Marcia A. Pugh, DNP, MSN, MBA, HCM, RN

Dr. Marcia Pugh is the Chief Executive Officer and Administrator of the Greene County Health System which includes the Hospital, Nursing Home, the Physician’s Clinic and other specialty services. She received her bachelors’ degree in nursing from Tuskegee University, her master’s in nursing, business and health-care management from the University of Phoenix and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Alabama, Tusculoosa. Her foundation in nursing care and client management includes acute care as well as maternal child and home health. These years of hands-on care experience were followed by senior management and research experience positions. She has served in positions from charge nurse and head nurse to Chief Nursing Officer. She has a book chapter and several articles on such topics as evaluation of online prenatal materials, radiographic studies and antibiotic use among others. She has written and served as Project Director for several state and federal grants. She has an extensive portfolio of over $10 million in funded grants. After spending over 40 years in the healthcare field as a Registered Nurse, Dr. Pugh is ready to move the Greene County System to be the best in the communities it serves. She is committed to her community and local residents serving on several boards and facilitating the work of local foundations. She is vested in the communities served by the Greene County Health System having lived and raising both of her children here since 1991. Dr. Pugh has two children. Her daughter, Nakieta, is a Clinical Psychologist and has her own practice. Her son, Barrown, has given her the joy of a granddaughter who keeps her very busy!
